Puerto Rico is home to numerous flats that these magnificent game fish frequent. The best times to target them here is between March and November, though anglers can expect to get shots year round when conditions allow.

The permit flats of Puerto Rico are generally a combination of rock, reef, grass, and sand. Most of the time, the fish are tailing or surfing in the waves, presenting the flats angler with an exciting and challenging shot. This fish is not easy anywhere in the world, but it seems like they are extra rewarding here in Puerto Rico when it all comes together.
